Our story

What if confidence, focus and emotional wellbeing were built through movement?

Power Up Club was founded by Zach Glynne, and it grew from something he saw every single day.

With a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and years spent working in primary schools, as a teaching assistant and a deputy wraparound care manager, Zach noticed the same thing again and again: when children move, play and are encouraged, something shifts. They stand taller. They focus better. They start to believe they’re capable.

He also saw the flip side, children full of energy and potential who were struggling with confidence, focus and managing big emotions, and not enough spaces designed to help them with all of that at once.

So he built one. Power Up Club combines the science of how movement supports young minds and bodies with real, hands-on experience of working with children. It isn’t about being the fastest or the fittest. It’s about helping every child feel calm, confident and capable, one small action at a time.

Zach is now training to become a qualified teacher, and that belief in the whole child sits at the heart of everything Power Up Club does.

Evidence behind the approach

Physical activity regulates emotions

Research consistently shows that regular physical activity can positively support children's emotional regulation. Recent peer-reviewed studies indicate that structured movement programmes are linked to improvements in emotional control, impulse management, and the ability to cope with stress. By combining purposeful physical activity with clear routines and supportive environments, schools can help pupils develop the skills needed to regulate emotions more effectively.

What families say

Power Up Club has made such a difference to my son. He comes home more settled, more confident and actually talks about what he learned in the session. He has always struggled with focus, but these routines and activities have really helped him manage his emotions better.
My daughter absolutely loves Power Up Club. She usually finds after school clubs overwhelming, but this is the first one she has stuck with and genuinely looks forward to. The mix of movement and mindset work has helped her become more positive and resilient at home too.
I cannot recommend Power Up Club enough. My child has always been quite anxious, and the sessions have given him practical tools to stay calm and regulate himself. His teacher has even mentioned that he is more focused in class on the days he attends.
Power Up Club has been a brilliant part of our daughter's week. She loves the activities and comes home buzzing with things she has learned. We have noticed a huge improvement in her confidence, especially when dealing with challenges or disagreements with friends.
This club has made such a positive impact on my son. He has struggled with behaviour in the past, but since joining Power Up Club he has become more aware of his emotions and handles frustrations much better. It is structured, fun and genuinely helps children grow.
